LCE Return to Campus
3rd Grade Hybrid Students Return Tuesday, Feb. 16
Dear Families,
This newsletter will provide you with information about what to expect when our third graders return for in-person learning on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Please take some time to review the information, policies, and protocols that we have in place. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to having our third graders back on campus again after so many months apart!
Sincerely,

Protocols at Home
Health Protocols
If a Student is Sick
We are running multiple scenarios by the Department of Public Health, and I will update you on protocols as things change or I get more clarification, but the bottom line is this:
STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK.

Protocols at School
Arrival
Students will arrive via the carline, from CEC, or by walking onto campus. The protocols for each scenario are similar. Students will get their temperature checked before exiting the vehicle if they are in the carline. Please wait for a supervisor to come to your car for the temperature check. If students are coming from CEC, they will follow the CEC protocols for checking in and walking from CEC to school. If a student walks to school with their parent, both student and parent should check in at a station where a supervisor will take the temperature of the student. In all scenarios, a student who has a temperature of 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to go through the gates. Students will stop at a hand sanitizing station before entering the gates, and from there, they will go to the playground to line up for school.
Waiting Area
Supervisors monitor the playground, and each cohort will have a paw print to mark where they line up to wait for their teacher. This is similar to the traditional school year, but now, students will be spaced 6 feet apart both in line and between lines. Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade parents will say good bye to their children at the gates. TK arrival works differently. TK has a separate gate, and students will be screened there. TK parents may stay behind the TK gates (not in the waiting area) and wait there with their students or say good-bye at the gate.
Dismissal
Inclement Weather
In the event of rain, the following protocols will be in place:
1. Students who are dropped off in the carline or walked to school will proceed to the outdoor covered pavilion where they will sit at our marked spaces (yellow x marks) to maintain 6 feet of distance. Once those spaces fill up, we will ask the teachers to open their classrooms so that students can enter the classrooms earlier than usual.
2. Recess will be held indoors, and students will remain distanced with a paraprofessional. Students cannot remove their masks indoors, so if they must have a snack, arrangements will be made for them to safely eat their snack outside the classroom in small groups.
3. Pick up at the end of the day will remain the same if it is a light rain. Therefore, it is important that your child brings an umbrella to school on the days when there is a chance of rain since they will be waiting on the paw prints for dismissal. If there is heavy rain, students will be released from the classrooms.
*Protocols for TK and Kindergarten may differ, and teachers will reach out with specifics.
