Exploring New Worlds - Keep on Roaring!
A Message from the Principal
Dear HSS Parents and Guardians,
As you know our fall Parent Teacher Conference Day is coming soon. I would like to invite parents to be sure to contact teachers to schedule this conference time. It is an important part of the educational process to benefit the academic success of your student. Your meeting with your student's teacher(s) is a step in the right direction for the partnership we desire to develop and maintain for all of our families. This meeting will also provide the opportunity to review your student's classroom and assessment activities to determine areas of growth, development and improvement.
Please mark Parent Teacher Conference Day on your calendar including early dismissal at 12:30pm. Let's partner together to improve the academic achievement of every HSS-Austin student.
Also, I want to personally thank our wonderful PTO for their hard work on our Family Game Night. It was a successful and fun evening spent with our students and families. I enjoyed watching the students enjoy the games and I took part in a few of the games as well. It was truly an entertaining night and a great show of TIGER PRIDE! Great Job HSS PTO!
Thank you,
Mr. Mehmet Subas, M.Ed.
Principal | Harmony School of Science - Austin

A Message from Your Dean of Students
As we continue through the month of October recognizing Bullying Prevention Month, we'd like to continue to encourage responsible behavior. We started the month off by recognizing Go Blue Day. Students and staff were invited to wear blue shirts to show their support of this important initiative. Next, we had a special presentation, "Don't Be a Monster"! which gave a close look into the life of a student being mis-treated for being different.
For the remainder of the month we'd like to encourage our students to continue their participation with the following activities:
The Week of October 9th - Make friends with someone new at school.
The Week of October 16th - Stand up for others week...be an Upstander not a Bystander
The Week of October 23rd - Week of inclusion: don't let anyone at school eat alone in the cafeteria or play alone on the playground.
The week of October 30th - start the week with conversations with your peers and meet about how you can change the culture at your school.

Dean of Students
