MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR
What an awesome month filled with so many happenings! Spring is in the air and scholars are now getting ready to transition to the next grade level as they continue to grow in their skills. Winter Benchmarking displayed growth for so many scholars and we are excited to share their learning at Spring conferences at the end of this month!
As we continue throughout the school year, we will be gearing up for the State Assessment window in May where our scholars will get the opportunity to show what they have learned all year long! Instruction will continue at high levels and scholars will begin to practice strategies that will emphasize the concept of "show what you know"!
As we wrapped up February, our Leap Day celebration was met with Literacy Night! Thank you to all the families to attended, and for those who helped make it happen. Not only did we have a great turnout for the event, but our Book Fair was a huge success as well. Thank you again for supporting our school community!
Finally, at the end of this month we will meet together for Spring Conferences, then take off a week for Spring Break. Thank you for ensuring your scholars are at school each day and prepared to learn... we would not be successful without your partnership!!!
Respectfully,
- ElizabethTHIS MONTH AT A GLANCE

CLA Career Chat #5
February 1st, we hosted Attorneys Zach Light & Erinn Cypher, along with Adrionna Minear who has recently been accepted to law school. The three shared their experiences in the field of law and what path they took to get where they are now. Scholars had some great questions and really enjoyed their visit!
MS Dance
On February 2nd, our Middle School scholars showed up in their formal attire to enjoy dancing, charcuterie and photos with friends! It was so fun to see scholars dressed up and ready to enjoy each other's company in a different school setting. Thank you families for letting them attend this event!
Mt. Ashland Youth Program
School Meals
Thank you Laurie Mann & Heather Mahonen for creating delicious meals every day that are not just nutritious, but also look and taste great! This photo is just one example of the care and energy that goes into the meals these ladies serve our scholars each day! Thank you Laurie and Heather!!!
Valentine Gifts from PTO
For Valentine's Day, the PTO presented each scholar with their own Valentine specifically from the PTO. The small, yet powerful gesture ensured that every Kinder-8th grade scholar received something special. So many scholars were excited to receive a gift specifically for them!
Literacy Night Success!

Early PM Pick Up/Messages During the School Day
- Emergency Notifications- Please contact the office no later than 1:30pm to provide adequate time for the office to contact the classroom
- Please let your student know the after school plans or how they are being picked up early before they come to school to limit interruptions in the classroom throughout the day
With instruction being important, we are asking that families refrain from pulling scholars out of class early (prior to their release time) so they may interact with content as much as possible. Thank you so much for partnering with us to ensure our Explorers receive the most out of their learning time!!!
College & Career Gear Days
With that, on the first Thursday of each month, our Explorers and staff will wear College/University gear (logo t-shirts, lanyards, hats, etc) or wear/dress in the Career they hope to be or would like to highlight. Example: if a scholar is hoping to be a firefighter in the future and they have an outfit, they are encouraged to wear it on this day!
Our hope is that we begin encouraging our Explorers think about their future!
