Library iCon 2020 (January 24, 2020)
Librarians are in a great position to impact learning on a campus. To be better equipped for this role, join us for Library iCon — a day full of learning and networking! Participants will leave with not only ideas on becoming instructional leaders on their campus but also tools and resources to share with students and teachers. From developing and promoting a diverse collection to collaborating with and supporting classroom teachers, you will leave feeling ready to facilitate learning in the library!
Lunch will be provided, thanks to the generous sponsorship of our vendors. We will have all of your favorite vendors at Library iCon, plus a few new ones!

Advocacy Resources
If you have not read Realizing the importance of K-12 libraries, a blog post by Mark Smith, Director & Librarian at TSLAC, I highly recommend it. Written in response to the Legislative Budget Board Management & Performance review for Houston ISD, it highlights the importance of school libraries and the positive impact they have on students.

Learn360
An idea for student use of Learn360 or Discovery Education is to give them an upcoming topic and then ask them to find the perfect video for that topic. Create a Padlet or Google form for them to submit their video with a justification of why this video would be perfect to teach the concept or topic.
