Admission is $10 per skater for entry and includes skates if needed. This is not a drop-off event; all children are to be accompanied by an adult.
Awesome Choir Concert
The Wilmot Choir sang for parents and guests Wednesday night. Congratulations to Ms. Georgas and the choir for a terrific performance.
Band and Orchestra Performs at Potbelly
On Thursday we enjoyed performances from our band and orchestra students at the Potbelly's Fundraiser. Thank you for supporting our young musicians in DPS109, and bravo to all performers!"
Save the Date - Parent Teacher Conferences
Mark your calendars! Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 21 from 1:00-4:00 pm & 5:00-8:00 pm and on Friday, March 22 from 8:30-11:30 am. All DPS109 schools will hold in-person parent-teacher conferences this year with an option to Zoom for parents/guardians who are not available for an in-person conference. Parents will sign up for a conference using Sign-Up Genius. Sign up links are live. Please click the link below to sign up for a parent teacher conference.
It is best practice to hold one parent conference per child, to ensure that both parents receive the same information regarding their child’s strengths and needs. Therefore, I ask that parents sign up for one joint conference per student. If this is a concern, please reach out to me directly. We look forward to seeing all of our parents during conferences. Conferences are a discussion between parents and teachers. At this time elementary conferences do not include students and therefore we ask that children not attend the parent-teacher conference.
Parent/Guardian Reminders
We need your assistance in limiting interruptions in our classrooms
- If your child needs to leave early please email the teacher the night before. We will call students down to the office when a parent/guardian arrives.
- We have recently observed a significant increase in the number of items being left on the "Oops I Forgot table." As a reminder we do not interrupt classrooms for items left (other than Chromebooks or glasses). We will provide students with a cup if they forget their water bottle.
Mindful Missions at Wilmot School
West Side Classic-Staff Charity Volleyball Game
Come out to support Team Give and our staff on March 13 in the West Side Classic charity volleyball game!
All proceeds will go to Bounce Children’s Foundation, a local organization that transforms the lives of chronically ill children, and their families, shifting all from surviving to thriving.
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)-3rd-5th Grade Students
Wilmot students in grades 3 through 5 will be participating in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) in English/Language Arts & Mathematics. Please see the schedule below.
All students must have working headsets at school. Please avoid appointments or absences during the testing window. If a student is late they will not be able to join the class for testing already in progress.
If you have questions about the Illinois Assessment of Readiness, please let me know.
Kindergarten Registration for 2024-2025
If you missed our in-person kindergarten registration, don’t worry! It’s not too late to register your kiddo for Kindergarten! Our online form is available on our registration page. Please reach out to our front office at 847-945-1075, if you have any questions.
If you have an incoming kindergartener (or a new to Wilmot 1st-5th grader) for the 2023-2024 school year it is important that you complete the registration process as soon as possible. Please note that only those students who are fully registered will receive an invitation for our spring Kindergarten Round-Up. Please spread the word. Kindergarten staffing decisions are based on the number of FULLY enrolled students.
Active K-5 students currently enrolled are NOT required to re-register annually. Early Learners Pre-K students ARE required to register for Kindergarten.
