All School Letter
February 4, 2022
It is nice to have more and more sun shining in our classroom windows each day. February will be a busy month. Scroll down to to see a list of events taking place this month.
Watching over 30 of our students showcase their new aerial silk skills during last Friday's All School Meeting was exciting! It was nice to have so many parents enjoying the performance with us.
Since our last ASL, we've had 12 positive COVID cases in our school. The next board meeting is on February 21st at 6:15pm. Be on the lookout for another survey about COVID protocols. From our last survey, 27 families wanted us to reevaluate in February, 22 families wanted us to keep our current protocols in place all year and 26 families wanted us to change our protocols at the January meeting.
Our first orientation for prospective families is on February 22nd. Please help spread the word! If you are able to volunteer on that day to help answer questions, we'd love to have your help. Lottery applications will open on the first orientation day. More information can be found on our website.
As we do not celebrate holidays during the school day, please do not send in Valentine's cards. However, maybe you are a parent willing to run a Valentine's Day studio? Studio planning information is at the front entrance of the school.
Due to high school graduation conflicts, Chinook's Graduation date has changed. Chinook's graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 17th. This is a whole school celebration. Everyone comes – not just the families of the graduates. Each family group has a part in the ceremony. The event will take place at Pioneer Park's Civic Center at 5:30pm.

Keeping your child home from school due to symptoms?
Contact Kat(email or call) in the office to excuse an absence due to illness. Please let us know about any symptoms, exposure, a positive test or if your child is a close contact.
If your child is out of school due to symptoms, we will need a copy of the PCR test results for them to return (if you choose to test). PCR testing is available through the district at three different locations. You will need your child's s numbers to schedule. Use this link to schedule a test: https://www.picktime.com/FNSBSD

My child is a close contact, what do I do?
It is still public health guidance and CDC guidance that close contacts who are not vaccinated quarantine. Please follow medical professional guidance, and do not send students who are close contacts to school. All children 5+ are now able to be vaccinated. Please see the flow chart below for help.
My child tested positive, what do I do?
Please let us know and contact public health (or their doctor) to determine when they can return to school. Please see the flow chart below for help.
Someone in my child's class tested positive, what do I do?
Monitor for any sign of COVID symptoms. If they do not have symptoms, they can be at school. Chinook now has antigen tests (tests for students who are not showing any symptoms) and can offer testing to students in the class 1-2 times after their last contact with the positive individual. This option will allow us to keep as many students in school as possible and see if transmission within the class is happening.
