Birkenau

Birkenau
Birkenau was known as Auschwitz II and was the major extermination camp. There was told to be approximately 150,000 inmates there at a given time. This being the largest of all Nazi death camps across Europe. This was all part of the holocaust.
It all began right when war in Europe was ending and General Adolf Hitler has just became Chancellor in May 1945. A period in time when Jews were subjected to terrible mistreatment, cruelty, inhumane laboring, lack of proper health care, starvation, deprivation of basic needs, the right of being treated as a unequal human being, and progressively harsh persecution. In Auschwitz all together there was somewhere between 2.1 to 4 million people killed and the main majority of them were Jews.
The reasoning for this was because Hitler created a plan called the "Final Solution" which was his attempt to eliminate the Jews leaving, what he believed to be the superior Aryn race (white people with blonde hair and blue eyes). This was then the beginning of World War II.

The Cattle Cars
They used these cattle cars to transport the Jews from their homes to the concentration camps. A cattle car would hold up to 80 people. Conditions were rough there were little space, little water, and they could have been kept in these cattle cars from days on.
Birkenau (Auschwitz 2)
Birkenau was part of Auschwitz, it was the extermination camp. It was located in Nazi, Germany in the Poland area. It was operated by the Nazi Shutzstaffel and Soviet NKVD.
The Gas Chambers
The Gas Chamber were used to exterminate the Jews. The Chambers would hold up to about 700-800 people at a time. They would be told that they were going to be taking showers and then they would be locked into these chambers, where then Zyklon B was poured into the chamber through openings in the roof.
The Bodies of the Holocaust
The corpses were then disposed of in mass graves, where they would just toss all the bodies in together and bury them all at the same time. It is unknown how many people were killed at Birkenau but experts estimated about
2.5 to 4 million were killed at Auschwitz.
Adolf Hitler
This was Adolf Hitler who was the Chancellor of Germany. He was the man who started the Holocaust as his plan the "Final Solution" to eliminate Jews leaving, what he believed was the superior Aryn Race.
Auschwitz Crematoria
This the Auschwitz Crematorium where they would burn bodies of the Jews. If you were not eligible to work or you weren't fitting the criteria of what they expected you to do you would get sent to the crematorium or the gas chambers. It was to the extreme if you were sick or unfit or too old or too young you would automatically get killed on the spot. At times they would make inmates throw people in the crematorium alive, even their own family but it was either do that or they will die anyways and then you will get killed too.
