What are 2 allergies and what problems do they cause?
- 2 common allergies are milk and peanuts, these are both food allergies. These types of allergens enter through the mouth so they are taken up by nearby immune cells and eventually transported to mast cells. They may cause sneezing, itching, and swelling.
How do you know when you have an allergy instead of a common cold?
- A person with a common cold might have a stuffy nose and difficulty breathing. A person with allergies can have mild to severe symptoms anywhere from breathing difficulty to irritation to the skin, eyes, or stomach. Allergies also last much longer than common colds.
Can allergies be cured?
- Doctors can treat allergies using a specific allergen immunotherapy. In this process they make a vaccine by combining concentrated extracts of a patient’s known allergies.
If you have allergies, what can you do to keep from having a reaction?
- The most effective way is the stay away from what triggers your allergy. Common drugs can relieve allergy symptoms.
What makes one person be allergic when another person is not?
- Allergies are reactions of the immune system. The immune system detects and responds to foreign substances that enter the body. Some things are tolerated by the immune system while others are not. Some people’s immune system can tolerate more than others.
