Mission Statement
Back to School 20-21
Welcome to the 20-21 school year! We look forward to welcoming our students back the week of August 10-14. It has been quite some time since our classrooms were filled with students and staff. We enter this school year under very unique circumstances. There are many different perspectives and opinions regarding our return to school. I can assure you that our staff will make every effort possible to meet the needs of your family. This year will be filled with many challenges and opportunities as we move forward. Over the past six months, our community has shown a tremendous amount of strength and resilience. The Morton community did a tremendous job navigating through the pandemic and played a critical role in supporting our students and staff through Remote Learning. Thank you for your continued support! As always, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. You can find detailed information regarding our reopening plan here.

Sincerely,

1st Week of School Information
The schedule for the first week of school will involve students being assigned to a small group. This means your children will attend only one day of school in person during the first week of school. This schedule is for all students - those who are choosing remote and those choosing in-person learning.
We need the time to get your children set up for success. The design of this plan enables us to maximize time and practice safety procedures.
We will bring 25% of the student body to school on each of the first four days of school with Friday morning being set aside for our remote students. This will make class sizes small and allow for individual attention.
For this week only, there will be no Wednesday early dismissal at the elementary or late start on Monday at the secondary level.
The schedule for the first week of school will be as follows:
Monday, August 10th - Last Name: A-F (8:30-3:45)
Tuesday, August 11th - Last Name: G-L (8:30-3:45)
Wednesday, August 12th - Last Name: M-R (8:30-3:45)
Thursday, August 13th - S-Z (8:30-3:45)
Friday, August 14th - Remote Learners - ½ day only - (8:30-12:00 )
*Friday is developed for in person orientation with our remote learners. If your family does not feel comfortable with in person orientation, please contact our office at 402-715-1290.
Bus transportation will run accordingly and allow our drivers the opportunity to work with students on safety protocols. There will be no bus services on Friday, August 14th.
