Digital Day #3
It's another "School from Home" Day
Calendar Math
Look at a calendar at home. Talk about what day of the week it is. What is the month, date and year? Talk about the weather. How do you know it is winter?
Literacy Learning
Click here to watch Harry's Kindergarten video about CVC words.
In writing, write about the snow and ice using your senses. Describe what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. Try to use descriptive words such as color, feeling and noise words. When you are finished don't forget to check for things that good writers do (space between words, capitalize words correctly, reread to see if it makes sense and sounds right, draw a picture and label, etc. ) Read your writing to someone at home.
Math Memo
Shapes and Positional Words
Look around your house and collect items that are different shapes (cubes, cones, cylinders, spheres) and display them. Can you sort them by shape? Take a picture of your shape museum and email it to me! I can't wait to see what you find.
Positional Words
Now use your shape museum to show positional words such as; above, below, in front of, behind, in between, left, right, Practice putting an object above another object and say "above." Put another object below another object and say "below" Put objects to the right or left of another and notice the position. Line the objects up in a row. Which one is in the front? Which one is last? What other positional words can you show?
