Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Russ Booth
April 7th, 2024
Tomorrow begins the last week before the April break and it is shaping up to be a great week! We are all anticipating the eclipse on Monday afternoon, and the astronomy club has ordered glasses to host a safe viewing party after school. There is information linked below that the district has put out in order to ensure everyone is safe during the viewing of the eclipse.
There are a lot of athletic events this week including a Unified Track meet on Tuesday beginning at 3:30pm, and Girl's Lacrosse Senior night on Wednesday at 5:45pm so be sure to stop by if you have some time to cheer on our athletes.
As a reminder to all families regarding dismissals from school, please be sure to send a note in with your child if you intend to dismiss them during the school day. Notes should be dropped off at the welcome window prior to 8am, and a dismissal slip will be available for the student to pick up later in the day prior to dismissal. If you have any questions, please reach out to someone in the main office.
Be sure to take a look at the new information below. There are several updates to the senior corner section, and information regarding boat cruise tickets have been added to this week's newsletter.
Have a great week!

Mansfield Students Prepare for Eclipse
Below is a link to a press release Mansfield Public Schools has issued to let everyone know what MPS is doing to learn about and celebrate the eclipse, while also ensuring our students are safe at the same time.
Preventing the Spread of Respiratory Illness
Massachusetts Department of Public Health has adopted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance about what to do if you test positive for COVID-19. Isolation mandates have been removed. This new guidance applies to any viral illness, not just COVID-19. Symptoms of a viral illness include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache.
If your student has new symptoms of a respiratory virus, including COVID-19, monitor symptoms and take action:
Cover coughs and sneezes.
Wash hands often with soap and warm water especially before or after eating and after coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer.
Your student can go back to normal activities/work when:
They have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Their symptoms are improving.
You can find helpful tips and examples from the MA DPH here: Respiratory Virus Guidance
