Stremel Newsletter
March 10, 2024
Dear Parents,
Last week, I sent home information about our Field trip to the San Diego Air and Space Museum. Please return the paperwork and the donation of $14.50 as soon as you can. If your child would like to bring in an optional homemade leprechaun trap to share with the class, please bring it in by this Friday, March 15th. We can't wait to see all of the fun and creative traps!
Here are some friendly reminders and upcoming events:
- Library Day Wednesday is our library day. Please help your child remember to return their library books by Wednesday.
- Timeline Project: The project is due by Wednesday, March 20th. Thank you for your support!
- Please label all jackets, sweaters, umbrellas etc., in case they are lost or misplaced. It is also helpful to label your child's water bottle.
Warmly,
Mrs. Stremel

SEES World Fair Classroom Basket
To: Parents of Mrs. Stremel’s 1st Grade Class
From: Kelly Nolan, World Fair Room Basket Coordinator
RE: SEES World Fair & our Classroom Gift Basket
Our SEES PTO is planning a fabulous fundraiser on May 4th, 2024. It is the New SEES World Fair! This event is not only a fun event for the entire family, but the funds raised are used towards various education and classroom enrichment programs. That is why we need YOUR help!!!
In order to raise as much money as we can for our school and meet our fundraising goals, each classroom will create a classroom Gift Basket, which will be placed in the World Fair Silent Auction.
The theme for our basket this year is: EVERYTHING SOCCER
Here are two ways you can help:
If you have any connections for items/experiences that would go well with our theme, please let me know! Even if it doesn’t pertain to our basket, if you have a connection, we can use it in another basket or as a stand-alone auction item. Email me if you have any questions or need my help. Receipts are available.
We realize most people are busy and would rather just donate money toward making an awesome basket. So, to make it easy for you, I will accept monetary cash donations and do the shopping for you. If you prefer to use VENMO, you can Venmo me at [@Kelly-Nolan-8]. A suggested donation of $8.00 - $10.00 will ensure a great basket from our classroom. Remember, it is your option of what to contribute – more, less or not at all. Please DO NOT make checks out to the PTO for this. Cash is preferred to make it easier for the basket coordinators.
Our teacher will be collecting the donations and I will pick them up. If you do provide a donation (even cash), please include your full name and item value since we are required to record and itemize everything we collect.
Basket item donations, gift cards, and cash will be accepted now through Friday, March 22, 2024. This date is FIRM and very important since we need a lot of lead time to prepare for this fundraiser and silent auction that include sorting, itemizing, posting, and wrapping items for the fundraiser. Please remember that the classroom baskets are a major part of SEES PTO’s fundraising. All net proceeds from these baskets will benefit our children. We sincerely appreciate your participation in making our basket a special one! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Kelly Nolan
Classroom Basket Coordinator
