This week students will begin to read a variety of texts related to government and focus on identifying key details and determining the main idea.
- Math -We will begin our first math unit. The big concepts of this unit include addition, subtraction, rounding, graphing and place value/number sense. For more information about this unit, please read the Parent Letter.
- Writing -We will review the three genres of writing: narrative, opinion, and informative. Students will focus on narrative and will write a letter using information from the text they read in class.
- Vocabulary- Students will be able to use reference materials to build their vocabulary. They will show their understanding of the words by using them in a sentence during collaborative conversations and in writing.
