Welcome To The West Word
Administrative Introductions
Mr. Ryan Creeden (Principal)
My ultimate goal is to create a safe environment for students where they can enjoy being part of a PV community that is committed to success and seeing them mature in to leaders that are respectful and responsible in all of their endeavors.
My professional career in education began at James Madison University in Virginia where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Education. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Education Administration from Villanova University. I spent 17 years in the Methacton School District as a high school math teacher, high school and middle school assistant principal before accepting an assistant principal position at PV Middle School West. I served as an assistant principal for three years at PV Middle School West before becoming Principal in the 20/21 school year.
I am committed to making PV West a safe and successful place to be. Despite the challenges this very different year may bring, I am confident that together we can become even stronger as individuals and as a school community.
Mrs. Christine Capriotti (Assistant Principal)
Prior to becoming PV West Assistant Principal, Christine served as an Interim Assistant Principal, Instructional Learning Coach (with a focus on Inclusive Practices), and Special Education Teacher for the North Penn School District. In addition, she was a Learning Support Teacher/Case Manager, Instructional Coach and Special Education Coordinator during her tenure in Philadelphia.
Christine earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from LaSalle University. She then attended Holy Family University to attain her Master's degree in Special Education and received her certificate in Educational Leadership from Delaware Valley University. Christine is passionate about ensuring that all students are provided with learning opportunities that meet their academic as well as social and emotional needs. Her goal is to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students and to build lasting relationships with all stakeholders.
Grab-n-Go Information
All students will receive an individual white board, marker, and cloth eraser with the West Strong logo on it provided by Home & School. Most students will also receive math and/or ELA workbooks as well as other additional items depending on grade level or classes being taken.
All 6th grade students will receive an agenda book compliments of West Home & School. There are additional agenda books that 7th and 8th grade students may purchase at the Grab-n-Go for $5 each. Also for sale at the Grab-n-Go will be orange PV Strong t-shirts that were distributed to all 8th grade students last school year for $10 each. See a picture of the shirts for sale below.
A small list of suggested school supplies will be placed in each student's bag. This supply list will not be required, but suggested only. We advise waiting to purchase school supplies until the school year is underway in order to avoid any unnecessary expenses.
6th Grade Used Chromebook Distribution
If your child has another device to use for the beginning of the school year you would not need to recommend a temporary used device. We are planning on providing all 6th grade students with new Chromebooks once we receive and prepare them for pick-up at a later date.

Nurse News
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, there are risks and difficulties attendant on requiring immunization of children to enter and attend school. During last winter, spring and continuing to the present, preventive medical visits, including those associated with the administration of vaccines, have been postponed to mitigate the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, many children in Pennsylvania have not obtained vaccinations on the appropriate schedule and may not have the immunizations required to enter and attend school in the fall of 2020.
To enable children to enter and attend school without the required immunizations, with Governor Wolf's authorization as conferred in the March 6, 2020 Proclamation of Disaster Emergency, the Department is temporarily suspending the regulations at 28 Pa. Code § 23.83, which provides the list of immunizations a child must have and the grades for which the child must have them. The regulations are suspended for a two-month period after the beginning of the school year.
The Department continues to stress the importance of immunizations. Childhood immunizations are essential to individual and population health. Immunizations protect children against the potentially devastating effects of vaccine-preventable diseases. The specified regulations are being suspended temporarily only in response to the impact of the COVID-19 disaster emergency on the availability of immunizations before the start of the school year.
