Training for power users
Pilot districts to learn new analytics feature in SD-STARS
SD-STARS invited 10 districts to learn how to use STARS Analytics. STARS Analytics is a new feature that allows those with Power User permissions to create reports for their district using data found in SD-STARS. Participants will attend a two-day training April 27-28, where they will learn how to:
- Build reports from scratch
- Make changes in existing reports
- Create different charts and grids to display data
- Use charts as drilldowns to more targeted data
- Publish reports to users in their district
After the pilot group has been trained, SD-STARS plans on rolling STARS Analytics out to more districts statewide. Unlike most permission levels, the Power User permission must be granted by the SD-STARS team. This new permission will only be given to individuals who attend the Power User trainings provided by the Department of Education.
Watch upcoming newsletters for information about how your district can be trained in this new feature! Contact STARSHelp@state.sd.us with any questions.
