Be safe around electricity
Electricity can be dangerous around water
Don't ever keep electrical cables exposed to water because water is a conductor and can electrocute you if you touch the water.
If there is a thunder storm and lightning is sorrounding you while you're in the pool get out
as soon as you can because lightning is attracted to water.
Don't touch anything that runs on electricity if your hands are wet.

Safety Tips
- Never play with electrical cords, wires, switches, or plugs.
- Stay away from fallen power lines. Tell an adult if you see a fallen line.
- Never use a hairdryer or play an electrical radio or television near a bathtub or sink.
- Before you climb a tree, look up. If a power line is nearby or touching, stay away from that tree.
- Never touch anything that runs on electricity when your hands are wet.
- Fly kites and model airplanes in a wide open field or park but never near overhead electrical wires.
- Never climb utility poles or electrical towers.
- Stay away from substations and transformers (green boxes)

Follow these safety tips when using power points and power boards.
- Don't overload individual power points.
- Don't plug in more than two cords into a double adaptor.
- Keep all electrical connections out of areas that may become wet because of watering or weather conditions.
- Keep flammable material, such as paper and plastic 150mm away from bulbs.
- Check that you have working smoke alarms in your home.
