Thank you all!
Thank you so much for being a part of my life, have a WONDERFUL summer break!
In preparation for next year (rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders)
I'm hoping there will be an opportunity for in-school individual practice time on the off days to help mitigate bringing the instruments back and forth throughout the week. Students who play larger instruments, we will work it out!
Summer Band Classes
I'm excited to announce that I will be offering summer band opportunities at Watertown HS (in the band room)!
Concert Band
Concert Band is a class set up for experienced musicians in a band setting. We will be working through lighter repertoire (pop music) and refining skills used in a band
class. This class is open to rising 5th-12th graders with at least 1 year of experience playing their instrument.
Location: Watertown High School Band Room, 50 Columbia St.
4 Weeks: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (19 total meetings NO CLASS ON MONDAY JULY 4TH)
July 5-July 29 1:00 PM-1:50 PM $55
Jazz Band-Improvisation
Jazz Band is a class set up for experienced musicians in a band setting. We will be working on how to improvise and create quality solos through the lens of Jazz. This class is open to rising 5th-12th graders with at least 1 year of experience playing their instrument.
Location: Watertown High School Band Room, 50 Columbia St.
4 Weeks: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (19 total meetings NO CLASS ON MONDAY JULY 4TH)

Drumline
Drumline is a class for any person, regardless of experience! We will be working on the fundamentals of drumline as well working on grooves and music to
accompany it! This class is open to rising 5th-12th graders with at least 1 year of experience playing their instrument.
Location: Watertown High School Band Room, 50 Columbia St.
4 Weeks: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Drum Set
Drum Set is a class for any person, regardless of experience! We will be working on the fundamentals of playing the drum set as well as working on playing
different styles of drum set such as rock, swing, and bossa.
This class is open to rising 5th-12th graders.
Location: Watertown High School Band Room, 50 Columbia St.
4 Weeks: Tuesdays, and Thursdays
July 5-July 28 3:00 PM-3:50 PM $30
Junior/Senior Districts Prep
This class is for anyone who wants to push themselves to the next level of playing and prepare themselves for an audition for Honor bands, such as Junior or Senior Districts. This will give you the direction to help you be successful on your auditions!
This class is open to rising 7th-12th graders with at least 1 year of experience playing their instrument.
Location: Watertown High School Band Room, 50 Columbia St.

Fridays (19 total meetings NO CLASS ON MONDAY JULY 4TH)

Beginning Band/Doublers Class
This class is for anyone interested in learning a new band instrument. Instruments that you can learn are:
-Flute -Oboe -Clarinet-Saxophone -Trumpet -French Horn
-Trombone -Euphonium -Tuba -Percussion
This class is great for anyone who either wants to learn a secondary instrument or for someone who wants to learn an instrument for the first time. Come and join us with one
of the most fun things around!! This class is open to rising 4th-12th graders, no
experience necessary. Location: Watertown High School Band Room, 50 Columbia
St. 4 Weeks: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (19 total meetings NO CLASS ON MONDAY JULY 4TH)

If you are planning on participating, the recommendation would be to practice about 20-30 minutes a day to help keep you on track!

Clarinet and Saxophone players-Reed Talk!
Being a saxophone/clarinetist myself, it's important for how good each person sounds so they can work on other things. Having a set of quality reeds makes that easier!
Here are the only type of reeds that I recommend:
Elementary strength 2.5, 6th Grade strength 3, 7th/8th strength 3.5
