Monday Morning Memo - Week 14
12/2/19
Dear Poupard Leaders,
MEMSPA Conference
I've been really encouraging staff members to participate in professional learning made available through Wayne RESA, their professional organizations and within our district. Please continue to share opportunities you're interested in attending and I'm happy to work with you in determining how school resources may support your professional learning.
Angela Whateley and myself will be at a Principals conference from Wednesday through Friday this week. I'm excited to attend this annual conference this year because I've recruited 7 out of 9 Grosse Pointe Principals to attend and represent GP. This is the largest Principals conference in the state of Michigan with over 600 principals attending. I look forward to share my learning with you all when I return.
There are quite a few people stepping up to fill my shoes during my absence. Thank you to Amanda Lane for assisting the office team on Wednesday! Thank you to Sarah Mead for assisting the office team on Thursday!
During my absence, I can easily be reached through email, text, calls, hangouts, etc. If there are any issues that require immediate attention, please opt to call or text me. Please email me about items that don't require any immediate attention.
Winter NWEA Sign-up
Karen is using habit one and has prepped the NWEA WInter Testing Schedule. Please use the link below to gein selecting times within the classroom or lab that work best for your students. Testing begins after we return from Winter Break and runs through the month of January with makeup testing set to occur the first week of February.

Class Newsletters
Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
GES3
Our GES3 meeting dates and deadlines have been established by the team. You can access that information below. It will also be made available on our Poupard Schoology page.
GES3 Dates and Information Page
Walkie Talkie
All Classroom Teachers should have received a Walkie Talkie. Please take it with you when you take your students outside for an extra recess. The office staff will use it to locate individual students, typically for early dismissal.Emergency Information
Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We will be doing a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything that necessary and include updated rosters as they become available.
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
