VISITING ST. MARTIN'S
To ensure a safe environment for all, we kindly ask that all parents and guests sign in at the school office upon arrival. Please refrain from using side doors to enter classrooms or the gym unless it is during an authorized after-hours event.
This helps us maintain an organized environment, keep track of who is on campus, and ensures we can assist you promptly.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our school community.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Student success and a sense of belonging starts with consistent attendance at school.
Ensure that your child is consistently attending, so we can help them reach their full potential. Please reach out to your child's teacher, school administration, or our FWW team if attendance is a challenge for your family.
"Good attendance" is attending >95% of classes - which is roughly missing 0-1 days per month.
Author at St. Martin's School
On Feb 22 we welcomed author story teller Tololwa M Mollel to St. Martin’s. Mr Mollel talked to us about story telling and writing to make stories interesting. His stories are written around traditional African themes. He shared a lively tale to the students about a tortoise and its shell. #blackhistorymonth

St Martin’s:
I hope everyone had a fantastic February. Lots of exciting things happened this month. For Random Acts of Kindness Week, the Kindness Clubs put together kindness notes with lollipops and handed them out to every student in the school. I also ran a coloring contest and the win-
ners will be chosen soon. This month was focused around kindness, so I put together a bulletin board that says “St Martin’s students put the ‘I’ in kind” and the students were able to take photos in front of it. Students also filled the board with hearts that said how they show kindness.
Grade 3S, 3/4C, and 4B completed the GoStrengths program.
They ended off the program by completing strengths trees, which highlighted their strengths and how they show each of these strengths. The students really enjoyed this activity and it was awesome getting to see what each student thought their own personal strengths were. Grade 1/2S completed the social emotional learning program and began the Slumberkins program. So far they have met Honey Bear who talks about gratitude and BigFoot who talks about self-esteem. This program will continue throughout March. Some small groups continued, working on social skills, communication, and friendship. The Grade 5 and 6 After School groups also continued and will wrap up before spring break. If you are interested in any programs for your class, I do have room in my schedule so please email me to discuss.
