NOVEMBER NEWS
What is going on in Ms. Lopez's class this month?
Monthly theme
This month's focus in our classroom is numbers, we will be working on learning to recognize our numbers, 0-9. We will work on different activities every week to enhance our recognition of the numbers, in text and in familiar places. Please help your child by encouraging him/her to point out numbers while at home, at the grocery store, at the park, etc.
Reading
We are focusing on books about numbers this month too! We will incorporate the books into our weekly number lessons. The local library is a great place to find books about numbers that you can read to your child.
Motor Skills
We will be working on different activities to practice our numbers too! These activities will include going over our numbers with cereal and/or noodles. The students will need to bring a small bag full of cereal or noodles for this activity. Parents please remember to send this labeled with your child's name no later than November 15th.
Event Information
A trip to the Park
We will be walking to the park across the street to collect items for our album of numbers. The children will take a bag in order to collect different items found at the park for each number. For example, they will collect two of the same kind of leaves for the number 2. If any parent is interested in volunteering, please contact me via email no later than November 18th.
