Fifth Grade Farewell Awards, PTA & Parent Appreciation Awards
Friday, June 6th is a very special day here at Central. Students, grades first through fifth will receive awards for participation and performance in music, art and physical education. Also, awards for academics, attendance and school service will be given. Miss Erler and Mrs. Sut and the fifth grade students have prepared a wonderful presentation as a farewell to Central School.
PTA and parent volunteers will be recognized! We will have a special refreshment area set up when you bring your child at 8:30 a.m., to show our appreciation for those who have helped out in any way this year. We are proud to honor all the hard work they put in throughout the year!
The program starts at 9:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend! We look forward to an exciting ceremony! Hope to see you there!
Teacher Appreciation Week was Awesome!
Our Central staff had a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week! Our Central parents and PTA provided us with several delicious meals and a new microwave for the teacher’s lounge! None of this would have happened without the help of our wonderful parents.
The PTA would like to thank Abigail Pearson, Allisa Schnick, Amy Daly, Amy Howard, Amy Wright, Andrea Blevins, Angela Timmons, Carolyn Hughes, Carrie Brown, Carrie Durnell, Cathy Taglia, Colleen Seguin, Danielle and Phil Berg O’Reilly, Dianna Sullivan, Erin Strauss, Lesley Grcich, Rachel Bernardez, Haiying He, James Dragon, Jamie Rasmussen, Jenn Campbell, Jennifer Adams, Jessica DeKock, Judie Running, Kayla Stone, Kelly Hooks, Keri Parks, Leah Faga, Lisa Norman, Marissa Krutz, Marlo Harding, Mona Drake, Nicole Anderson Schelling, Nicole Coleman, Rebecca Whited, Shelby Topping, Stacey Littlefield, Susan Stage, Teisha Astle, Tonya Nigro, and Yuki Yu. Your time and donations are greatly appreciated!
Our Teacher Appreciation Week was topped off with all staff taking home a dinner on Friday night. We would like to thank Craig Berg and Danielle Berg-O’Reilly at Duneland Pizza for their generous discounted take-and-bake pizzas that were truly amazing! Head out to Chesterton to sample other varieties at their pizzeria! We would also like to thank Sunrise Health Foods for the donation of the salads, reusable shopping bags and store coupons! Sunrise has all your health food and vitamin needs covered!
Lastly, the dinners would not have happened without a lot of prep work...thanks to Danielle Berg-O'Reilly, Andrea Blevins, Carrie Durnell, Lesley Grcich, Carolyn Hughes, Stacey Littlefield, Keri Parks, Kala Stone and Diana Sullivan.

Summer Activity Ideas
A Note from Mrs. Sienkowski
Next school year will be here before we know it! As many of you are aware, there are exciting renovations that will soon begin across our school district and at Central. This summer a new boiler will be installed in an effort to head off what was a challenging winter for us this past year. While next school year will be business as usual for us, there will be a lot of information and ideas shared about plans for renovations and redistricting for our 2017-2018 school year. I will look forward to receiving your input and ideas throughout this time. Please know that I will keep you updated, but I ask that if you have questions or concerns in the meantime, please don't hesitate to share them with me. If I don't have the answer, I will find out! Together we will ensure that all our families are well informed and well taken care of.
I love what I do and it is because of you, your amazing children, and our remarkable Central staff. My heart is full. To our 5th grade families, I will miss you. I have had such a blast with your kids this year. They are going to love middle school! To all Central families, have a wonderful summer, enjoy your families, and know that I am available throughout the summer if you have any questions, concerns, or other needs. Thanks again!
The End
This is the last chatter for this school year. This school year went by faster than the last one! This is a great school with wonderful, caring families! Good luck to all the fifth graders going to B.F. next year! We will miss you! We look forward to seeing everyone else next year! Have a safe summer!
