The Weekly Update #4

PCM High School’s purpose is to develop self-sufficient citizens who are ready for the next stages of life. We will facilitate and foster student growth academically, socially, and emotionally through inclusive and rigorous curriculum. Our students will graduate with an understanding of who they are individually as the best version of themselves and make lasting contributions in their communities.
Students of the Month
Senior Awards Night
Senior awards night will be held on Wednesday, May 15th in the high school gym. The schedule will be as follows:
6:30 pm Baccalaureate
7:00 pm Awards Ceremony
End of Day Dismissal
Please remember that only bus students are dismissed at 3:10. This is to allow our busses to pick up students and get out of our parking lot safely. Please do not ask your student to meet you in the parking lot before 3:15. If you have any questions please contact the office.
Graduation 2024
Important information about graduation:
- Graduation practice will be held on Friday, May 17th at 9:00 a.m. Students must be in attendance for practice or they will not walk in graduation. There will be a senior walk at the elementary schools immediately following practice.
- Graduation will be held on Sunday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. Seniors must report to the high school commons by 1:20. They will start lining up at 1:50.
- Parents are asked to stay out of the building on the 19th before the graduation ceremony. Seniors will be busy getting ready and extra people makes it hard to give instructions.
- The ceremony will be held on the football field. Spectators are welcome to sit in the home-team stands or on the hills on either side of the stands. We still start promptly at 2:00.
Freshmen Orientation
Incoming 9th graders are invited to attend orientation on May 22nd at 6:30 pm in the high school gym. During this time students will hear from:
- Mrs. Souza, High School Principal
- Mr. Swink, Activities Director
- Ms. Pohl, High School Counselor
- Andrea Gotta, DMACC Career Academy
- PCM High School student panel
In addition, there will be students and organizations available after the presentation to show students around and talk about clubs/activities that are offered at the high school.

Wednesday, May 29, 2024:
- 1st Period Tests – 8:00 to 9:30
- 3rd Period Tests – 9:40 to 11:10
- Lunch – 11:15 to 11:55
- 5th Period Tests – 12:00 to 1:30
- 7th Period Tests – 1:40 to 3:10
Thursday, May 30, 2024:
- 2nd Period Tests – 8:00 to 9:30
- 4th Period Tests – 9:40 to 11:10
- Lunch – 11:15 to 11:55
- 6th Period Tests – 12:00 to 1:30
- 8th Period Tests – 1:40 to 3:10
Friday, May 31, 20243: Semester Test Make-Up Day
Students who have an excused absence and miss a semester test on Wednesday or Thursday will be able to make up their semester test on Friday. All tests need to be finished by 3:00pm on Friday, May 31.
Students will be expected to remain in the testing room throughout the testing period except for the last testing period of each day (7th period on Wednesday/8th period on Thursday).
