Proclamation of 1763
King George forbids the colonists from moving into the Ohio River Valley because he does not want to pay for another war.
Stamp Act of 1765
Colonists have to pay for the official stamp whenever they bought paper items. The colonists burn all the paper they find in protest against this act.
The Townshed Acts of 1767
Colonists are forced to pay taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea.
The Boston Massacre of 1770
The colonists were arguing with the red coats, a red coat accidentally fired and other red coats fired in confusion and ended up killing 5 people.
The Boston Tea Party of 1773
Colonists disguised as Native Americans sneaked onto three ships filled with tea, and threw 340 chests of tea into the Boston harbor.
The Intolerable Acts of 1774
The Boston harbor was closed until the colonists payed for the ruined tea. The quartering act required the colonists to offer their home to British soldiers.
Lexington and Conord 1775
Paul Revere's midnight ride warning all the colonists of British soldiers coming to take away their guns.
