O. Henry Library Leak
What's happening in the O. Henry Library?
Each month, I'll send out a newsletter leaking information on our library's shenanigans. There are always exciting things going on in the library, and let's be honest, it's not very quiet in here.
Margaret Stohl, author and video game creator, came to visit our students!
Margaret Stohl co-author of Beautiful Creatures and writer of her new book, Cats vs. Robots, visited O. Henry this last week to talk to our students about writing and robots. She discussed how nobody can be bad at everything, and to hone in on the things that interest us in our lives. She got started in the writing world creating video games, and now she writes books too. The students loved seeing her robots she builds come to life on stage.
3,603 books checked out already!
We're a little over a month into the school year and already 3,603 books have been checked outl! Keep it up O. Henry!
Who is using the library, aka The Brain Gym?
By the end of the 2nd week of school, all students at O. Henry had library orientation and checked out a book. Each day students are expected to read 15 minutes during their 5th period class, so having a book is a necessity!
O. Henry's new dance class has utilized the library for a History of Jazz lesson, and 6th Grade World Cultures is gearing up for their Regions Book Projects beginning in October.
We're off to a great start!
Don't be a stranger to the library. Come visit :)
