March Newsletter
Message from Principal Newton
Hello! Happy ALMOST Spring. As we countdown our early day of Spring into late Spring and end of school year, please see important dates regarding signing up for classes for 2024-2025, Spring Break, Testing, and End of Year celebrations. We have so much to celebrate this school year.
Time to Pick Courses for 2024-2025 School Year!
Dear High School Students and Parents/Guardians:
It is that time of the year when we begin to plan classes and schedules for the
2024-2025 school year. This part of the course registration process is very important
because it provides us with the critical data to determine which courses are offered and
how many sections of each course are needed. While students can make changes to
their requests later if needed, having full participation early on in the process will help
ensure the best possible offerings and schedules for everyone.
Starting today, Wednesday, February 28 in the student and parent PowerSchool portal,
a class registration section will be available. Attached is a step-by step guide to help
with the course selection process. We ask that you and your student complete this
course selection process by March 21.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Stanton.

KAMSC Enrollment
I’d like to inform you that the "upper class" phase of the KAMSC admission process, for students wishing to join the KAMSC high school pull-out program as sophomores, juniors, or seniors, began this week through the "APPLY" page on KAMSC's website, kamsc.org/apply. The deadline for students to register for KAMSC's entrance exam --- which is the first part of the application process --- is Thursday March 21, and the test will be administered on Wednesday April 3rd at 1:00PM at KAMSC.
Some of the benefits of attending KAMSC include enhanced course content in core courses, offerings of nine AP courses (some unique in the county, including AP Physics C, AP Environmental Science, and AP Computer Science A), additional course offerings at the college level (again, many unique to the county, such as multivariable calculus, organic chemistry, advanced computer science, and differential equations), a coherent research program, and daily interactions with students from around the county.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tanoff
