Flying High

Summer fun
This was a very fun summer but the most fun thing I did was fly my racing drone. It was a nice summer morning. The birds were chirping and my mom had made pancakes and bacon. All of yesterday I was working on my race drone getting it ready to fly. After I ate my breakfast I packed up all of my drone stuff, got on my bike, and went to my local park. I had made plans to meet up with my friend at the park and he was going to fly his drone too. Once I found him we needed to find an open field that was safe for us to fly. But there were lots of soccer games going on so we had to wait for a while. Finally one of the games finished so I started to get ready to fly. First I turned on my controller. Then I plugged the battery into the drone and waited for the controller to connect to the drone. Once it had connected I turned on my first person view goggles and connected them to my drone. Finally I was ready to fly so I armed the drone and took off. When I was zooming around the field I felt like a bird and I was super peaceful and happy.in the end I think that everybody should fly a first person view drone sometime in there life.
Look At Me!

The Science Of It
When flying a drone there is a lot of science that goes into getting it off of the ground and having it fly. Gravity plays a major role in how the drone flys. Drones need powerful motors to create lots of thrust to go up because gravity is pulling it down. The more powerful the motor the less the pilot and the drone feel the restrictions of gravity. Another connection to science a drone has is aerodynamics . When flying through the air the drone can go faster the less air resistance it has. To make it have less air resistance the makers of the drone try to make it more aerodynamic. One thing that drone companies do is make the arms smaller so there is less of a area for the air to push down on the drone. Another thing that they do is make the main body of the drone smaller so less air can push on the drone in flight. The last thing that some companies do it make the body of it out of plastic so they can shape it so the air passes by it easier. As you can see there is lots of science that goes into making a drone fly.
I Wonder
I wonder if the wind was going at the drone how much slower it would be?
I wonder if it was colder how the drone would act?
I wonder if I used a new battery how the drone would fly?
I wonder if I had newer motors would the drone fly better?
