Student Information Form for Rising 6th Grade Parents
In order to help you better understand the placement process at E. H. Greene, we would like to make you aware of the following information:
Currently, we have four 6th grade instructional teams comprised of four homeroom teachers working together with a common schedule.
All students within a team are afforded many opportunities to interact with one another during the school day through flexible learning groups, lunch, recess, and potentially in specials.
We will not be accepting requests for teams or specific teachers, but we would like to place your child with one (1) friend in his/her homeroom class. Please use the Student Information Form linked below to list names of preferred peers. Academic priorities such as special education and accelerated placements will take precedence when making team assignments.
In addition, we will offer two elective bells each day. During these time periods, students may participate in physical education, art, advanced art, general music, band, chorus, orchestra, STEAM and/or multimedia explorations. Reading intervention, math intervention, ESOL support, and special education support will also be scheduled during the elective bells. Students will be placed in the same specials they have for 5th grade unless a change is requested. More information about changing specials will come the week of April 27th.
We are looking forward to creating a successful atmosphere for your child at Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School and we look forward to working with you again during the 2020-2021 school year.
Click HERE to complete the Student Information Form no later than Sunday, March 22nd, 2020.

Cultural Night at Greene
SAVE THE DATE!
We are excited to Celebrate our Diversity at Greene on April 23rd from 6-8:00 pm.
We would love for all of our families to share their culture with us at the Greene School. It is going to be a wonderful evening - full of colors, tasty food from different regions, music and dance! We invite all families to come and represent their ethnicity! Due to the fact that we are limited in both space and the length of our event, available spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. So get your friends together and sign up as soon as possible!
Sign Up to Participate at http://bit.ly/CelebratingDiversitySignUp.
Please Note: Sign Ups will close on April 9th.

Book Fair!
The Joseph Beth Book Fair Begins
Monday March 9 !
We are excited to announce that the book fair opens in a few days, March 9, and continues through Friday March 13. It will be open each day from 7:45 – 3:00 pm.
Students will visit the book fair with their Multimedia Explorations class. Students not enrolled in this course are encouraged to come with a pass from a teacher throughout the day, before school, or at recess. You can send money with your child or come during that time to help them purchase books. In addition, we accept credit cards, checks, and "library money".
Shopping at the spring book fair is a great way to stock up on books your child will want to read over spring break or this summer, and help the school at the same time. It’s really fun to read anytime, but especially when you are traveling, sitting on a beach, or just relaxing around the house without any homework to do.
THANK YOU for encouraging your child’s reading endeavors, and for supporting the Greene School Media Center.
Happy Reading to all,
Mrs. Sloan, E.H. Greene Media Specialist
