What I Need (WIN) TIME
We are very excited about some new work we are doing this year. By now, some of you have been hearing your student talk about WIN time.
WIN Time: What I Need (WIN) Time is a great part of our day where every student is getting to work with a caring adult for intervention or enrichment. We know this is so important that this time is established in the master schedule for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade to receive instruction that is aligned to their instructional level based on the MAP and other appropriate assessments. Students are in a group with other students close in ability level but may be from different grade levels for 45 minutes a day. Monday and Tuesday students receive reading instruction and on Wednesday and Thursday they receive math instruction. Students in WIN groups will work with their teachers to set specific instructional goals. (Fridays will still be devoted to Focus Fridays) Everyone’s progress is monitored. The students may be moved to a different group based on their performance as needed.
