NO SCHOOL--TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Lowell Families,
Just wanted to remind families that students do not have school on Tuesday, November 6. This is a professional development day for teachers. School will not be in session.
Congratulations to our first quarter honor roll students! We are very proud of all of the effort and hard work that you have put into your school work this year! Great job and keep it up!!!
A couple of reminders about some upcoming events and dates:
Daylight savings time starts this weekend--we fall back one hour. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour so everyone arrives at school on time on Monday!
It's that time of year where the weather can be unpredictable. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather. We will go outside on most days.
Tuesday, November 6 -- NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS; professional development day for staff
Week of November 12 - November 16 ---- Book Fair & Grandparents Week. A schedule is attached to the Lantern. We hope to see many grandparents/special friends for lunch!
Lowell Spirit Wear will be available to purchase starting in the next week. Look for more information to come home.
Students brought home information about our Cookie Dough Sales this week--just in time for the holiday baking season! We appreciate your support with selling cookie dough.
As you know, school attendance is critical to the growth and development of our students. It is important for students to be at school on time every day! Good school attendance is a predictor for academic success in the students' school careers. When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating. Please help us by making sure your child is in school every day! We want to ensure that our students have the best chance for academic and long term success!
Have a great weekend!

FRIENDLY TIPS AND REMINDERS
* If your child will be absent due to illness or late due to a doctor's appointment, please call the front office at 317-532-3900 to report the absence or late arrival. This helps to ensure your child's safety. Please bring a doctor's note to document the excused absence.
* Dismissal is at 3:40pm. If you are picking up your child from school, please follow our car rider procedures.
* When arriving at Lowell, please make sure you stop first at the front desk. All visitors MUST sign in and put on a Lowell Badge while in the building. Safety is our top priority for our students. This process allows us to ensure every child's safety during the school day. Thank you for your cooperation.
* Parents are always welcome at Lowell! If you would like to visit your child's classroom, please call or email your child's teacher or Mrs. Griffin so we can make arrangements and ensure that the students will be in the classroom at the time of your visit. We encourage you and welcome you to always be a part of your child's learning, and we truly value your involvement!
* Please remember that our Lowell Campus is a smoke-free campus. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on Lowell grounds. This includes smoking in your cars while on the Lowell Campus.
