Important School News 9-8-17
Welcome Back Students and Families!
As we watched every student from our youngest learners all the way to our 5th graders excitedly (and sometimes nervously) enter their new classrooms for the first time, we were reminded of the tremendous privilege we have to be educators. Each child begins the year with hopes and wishes for their teacher, their class, and their school day. At Beaver Acres we strive to build a safe, inclusive, and caring community for all students. We value our partnership with families so that we may know and understand your children and how we may best meet their individual needs. One of the best ways for you to help is to stay informed by reading newsletters (like this one), connect with your child's teacher via email and in person if possible, attend school events, and to know that we're here to help however we can. We're looking forward to an amazing year together.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Geale & Mrs. Rosenquist

Reminders
Student Bus Information Changing? Transportation has been working on bus schedules throughout the summer. If you know that your student will need a daycare pick up or drop off stop that is NOT the student’s home address, please notify the office as soon as possible. The sooner we have this information, the sooner we can input this into the system. Changes can take up to 10 days to take effect.
Will you want to volunteer at school? If you are new to volunteering and you know that you might want to volunteer at some point during the school year, this is a reminder that everyone must fill out the Better Impact volunteer background application. If you have already done the Better Impact background check, then you are good to go.
Do you know of changes to your students' information? Please remember to let the office know of any changes to your students' information. This includes a new address, new phone numbers, change of emergency contact numbers, etc. The Office will be open limited hours during the summer and phone messages will be picked up once a week.
Free/Reduced Lunch Program. A student with 2016-17 Free/Reduced lunch status expires on Thursday, October 19th. A reminder that the Free/Reduced lunch applications must be filled out each year. If you feel that you would qualify, then click here to view the applications on line.
Is your student a Family Messenger? In our 1st Day Packet, you were given a green sheet “Family Messenger”, asking if you wanted your student to be the family messenger and if you wanted to receive information (when possible) electronically. A reminder that whenever possible, information will be sent home electronically unless you filled out the form and requested “hard copies”.
Bienvenidos!
Sinceramente
Mrs. Geale & Mrs. Rosenquist
