April 2024
Dear Families,
Happy Spring, although the weather the last couple days certainly doesn't feel like it! April seems to be the 'beginning of the end' of the school year because it will fly by! A future retiree reminded me that there are 47 days of school left in the year!
Thank you to all of the families that came out to STEAM Family Night last night. It was a big success and wonderful community event! The 'Out of this World' projects were beyond impressive! Hats off to the over 90 families that supported and helped their children create such amazing scientific masterpieces!
As we all know, spring gets pretty muddy, so please continue to send in boots or play sneakers (or keep a pair at school) for outdoor recess! It's important for kids to get out and play each day.
As always, do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or feedback.
Thank you for sharing your kids with us each day!

March Madness Fruits vs. Veggies Tournament
GRAPES!
The students had a blast trying out a variety of fruits and vegetables during March Madness! We wrapped up the fun event on March 22nd with a building wide assembly, including with a show from the Ball Handling Club, special guests from the High School Basketball teams and Cheerleading team and a student vs. staff game of Knock Out!
April 8th Half Day
A few reminders for the upcoming Half Day on Monday, April 8th:
- Please contact the office by 9:30am for bus pass and student pickup requests.
- Student pickup at dismissal begins at 11am and concludes at 11:15am
- Buses will depart at 11:25am
Ask Your Child About the Upcoming Solar Eclipse!
During Sunshine Day on April 2, students spent time learning concepts related to the upcoming Solar Eclipse. Throughout the day, students had hands on opportunities to learn about shadows and how they are formed, the comparative scale of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, and used resources to create a map showing the path the moon's shadow will make across the US. They are very excited for the big event!
Calendar Adjustments: Emergency Closure Give Back Days
As per Mr. Eiffe's March 4th letter, please make note that there will be NO SCHOOL on April 29, May 24 and May 28th. An updated school calendar can be found here.
Should additional days be required due to the usage of emergency closings, they will be taken in this order: May 28, April 29 and May 24.
Lost and Found
The Lost and Found is getting quite full! Please be sure to come into school and see if anything belongs to your child!
The items in the Lost and Found will 'find' their way to a local donation center if not claimed by April 19 - the Friday before Spring Break.
