Pastor Joey's Journal
What is the definition of being a true friend?
Someone who is a true friend stands up for you. When others try to hurt you emotionally or
physically, they do everything they can to make sure you stay safe. They don't care who is
trying to harm you; they will defend you anytime, anywhere. If they can help you, they'll do it
without reservation or reward.
What are the four friendship rules?
- Friends include others.
- Friends give others a chance.
- It's okay for friends to be different.
- Friends laugh and play together.
How can you be a better friend?
Check in on your friends if you haven't heard from them in awhile.
Let them know you're grateful for their lasting friendship.
Be a good listener when they speak.
Celebrate their achievements and be supportive during their failures.
Be present when your friends need you the most.
I would like to personally invite you and your family to be our guest at Parkview Baptist
Church this Spring. We offer Sunday school classes and Kids Church on Sunday mornings, as
well as Kids Bible Club on Wednesday evenings. We have child-care for infants to 3-year-olds
every service. You and your family will find Parkview Baptist Church a warm and friendly
Church, a place where you can connect with other young families and serve the Lord
together!
- Pastor Joey
Teacher Spotlight - Mrs. Priscilla
Mrs. Priscilla has been with us here at PCCPA since October & what a joy it has been! She has made such a positive impact in the time she has been here. She is very kind and has a gentle spirit towards our infants. We are so thankful to have her as a part of our team!
Teacher Spotlight - Mrs. Shelby
Mrs. Shelby has been with us for almost a year now. She is one of our teachers in the 2 year old program. She is always willing to help above and beyond her assigned age group & we are so thankful for her dedication to Parkview. Thank you Mrs. Shelby!

Parent Education: Total Solar Eclipse Safety Tips
Eye Safety
- View the Sun through eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer during the partial eclipse phases before and after totality.
- You can view the eclipse directly without proper eye protection only when the Moon completely obscures the Sun’s bright face – during the brief and spectacular period known as totality. (You’ll know it’s safe when you can no longer see any part of the Sun through eclipse glasses or a solar viewer.)
- As soon as you see even a little bit of the bright Sun reappear after totality, immediately put your eclipse glasses back on or use a handheld solar viewer to look at the Sun.
Skin Safety
Even during a partial or annular eclipse, or during the partial phases of a total eclipse, the Sun will still be very bright. If you are watching an entire eclipse, you may be in direct sunlight for hours. Remember to wear sunscreen, a hat, and protective clothing to prevent skin damage.
