CERT Mock ACT Scores
The December mock ACT has been accessible for students since Christmas break. The statewide ACT date is March 21st, so students can work inside the CERT program to help them prepare for the test. The student login is their school email (firstname.lastname@stu.pulaski.kyschools.us) and their password is either swhs or warriors. There are still a few students who need to make up either the entire exam or parts of it. If you have students in class who missed the mock ACT, they can take sections of the test online while your class is in a computer lab or they can complete the test at home. The online version of the test will time them for each section, and they are not required to complete all 4 sections in one setting.
Inside the CERT program, the Exam Room tab allows students to go back and look specifically at their responses along with a video explanation of the question and how to answer each one correctly. Students just need to click on the % in order to begin reviewing the questions. They can use the Feedback column to mark the question with a check (if they would get this correct the next time they see a similar question) or an x (if they still feel they would get the question wrong). CERT will give students an adjusted feedback score after they review the questions they missed and mark the feedback column. This helps students to see that it might only take getting 4-5 more questions correct to raise their score by a point. The Study Hall tab allows students to review based on specific topics, and allows them to see which questions relate to that specific topic.
As we approach March 21st, please think about how you would like to incorporate CERT into your classroom. If you would like to monitor their use inside the program and give them a grade or bonus points based on the percentage of review that has been completed, there are reports that can be run.
Below is a chart that shows the juniors students that tested in September/December and the % benchmarks hit:

PBIS Self-Assessment Survey (SAS)-Due Friday, February 3rd
Below is a link to our school's Self-Assessment Survey (SAS) that is mandated through our PBIS program. Please take 10-15 minutes to mindfully fill out this survey. It is entirely anonymous. Our school's PBIS committee takes the time to implement changes to our yearly action plan based on the results of this survey. Parent-teacher conferences and/or our work day Friday would be great times to take this, so I will send out friendly reminders on both of those days! The survey is due by Friday, February 3rd. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me. Thanks in advance for your time!
Youth Mental Health First Aid
It is a requirement in our district that ALL staff must be trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid. The training will be provided on the iLearn days this year, located at Northern Middle and Southern Middle in their libraries. The training runs from 8:00 - 3:30 and will hold up to 36 people. If you haven't attended this training, please email Lori Price with the specific location (NMS or SMS) and the specific iLearn day (Day 1, Day 2, or Day 3) and carbon Ms. Ellis when you send it.
