Band students share their talents in the APT Talent Show
Hats off to all who participated in the Talent Show! The LFHS Band was represented by Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, the Talent Show Pit Band directed by Meghan Pierce, Maria Kyriacou, and Avery Morris, and by numerous students who created their own musical groups/acts or worked behind the scenes with the Tech Crew or Committee. It's always rewarding to see what our students can do with their musical skills and creativity. I'm incredibly proud of the independent musicians they are becoming!
Students observe a CSO Dress Rehearsal
On February 21, students from the LFHS bands and orchestras had the privilege of observing a dress rehearsal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Center as they prepared for their performance of Shostakovich's Ninth Symphony with Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu. It was fascinating to see professionals in action as the guest conductor worked with them to refine their interpretation of this piece.
Jazz Festival a Success!
We welcomed jazz students from Deer Path and Lake Bluff Middle Schools and featured our talented LFHS Jazz Band and Jazz Combo on February 8 for a wonderful evening of jazz music! Videos will be uploaded soon to our LFHS Music YouTube channel. Thanks to all jazz students and to our Applause Team Parent, Lisa Hough, for another great year of LFHS Jazz!
