Education Department News
Hello, my name is Mallory Przygocki and I am the new Education Coordinator in the Education Department. I have an associate’s degree in Child Care and Development from Schoolcraft College and I am currently working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development at Madonna University. 5 reasons Dramatic Play Matters for Child Development
Dramatic play, also called pretend play or make-believe, allows the children to act out real-world situations and to take on new roles. There are 2 types of dramatic play; structured play- gives specific guidelines, and unstructured play- gives children the freedom to take on their own roles and scenarios.
5 reasons why dramatic play is important:
- Dramatic play teaches self-regulation.
- Dramatic play gives children an emotional outlet.
- Dramatic play teaches conflict resolution.
- Dramatic play supports literacy.
- Dramatic play allows you to support kids and encourage their ideas.
Designate a space in your classroom specifically for dramatic play, create a dress-up box filled with clothes, hats, and props children can use in their play, and allow time in your daily schedule for children to play!

The families in her classroom love her spirit and her amazing outlook on life. She is so very sweet and loves to spoil the babies. Courtney strives to be the best teacher she can be. If I need her to help with anything in the center, she always works it out!
