The Freedom Phenom
April 2024
PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
Good afternoon, Freedom Families! I hope that you all were able to rest and enjoy some time with your students. Spring Break always brings a chance for students and teachers to catch their breath and ready for the work yet to come. In under two weeks, we will begin Milestones Testing which will provide an opportunity for our students to show how much they have learned and grown this year. We are encouraged to see how they perform, and we appreciate the support that you have provided throughout the year and the support you will provide during the testing windows. As always, please feel free to let us know how we can better serve your student and family.
All the best,
Chad Flatt, Ed.D
Principal
STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Library books due for 8th grade: Friday May 10
**Lost or damaged books must be paid for by the last day of school.
Digital Citizenship
Students have been learning about the importance of their digital footprint. They worked in groups to solve a "shoplifting case" using the digital footprint of the thief. They did a great job solving the crime!
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
As the Georgia Milestones approach, here is an article that might be helpful if your student is feeling anxious about the testing process. https://childmind.org/article/tips-for-surviving-standardized-tests/

CONGRATULATIONS
In March, Cherokee County Board of Education recognized volunteers and business partners from around the county. We are so grateful for our volunteer Daniela McBride. She gives of her time and efforts in countless ways. Our new partner, Restor Diabetes of Woodstock has stepped up to help us with events and show the staff how valued they are. We truly appreciate you!
