Reading Tip - Making Connections
One strategy good readers use is to make connections between what is read and an event in their lives. When your child is doing his or her nightly reading, ask if the reading reminds them of a life situation they have experienced or if it reminds them of another book they have read. This is a great opportunity for a literary conversation! These connections help children comprehend text better and ensure a richer experience with books.
