Learning Coach Lounge @ DoSpace
After watching the video, take some time to talk with your student about neurons and challenges that may arise in learning and life:
- What are neurons and how do we make connections between our neurons?
- Think of an example where you made some new connections in your brain. What were you doing?
- What can you do this week to make some new connections? Set one specific goal for the week of one thing you would like to accomplish.

Mr. Gamble's Class
Week in Review:
This week we worked on descriptive analysis. Within each program, students had the following targets (objectives):
- I can continue to work on my proficiency with the home row keys in Edutyping.
- Upon completion of my settlement, I can descriptively write about it using grade-level appropriate vocabulary so readers may visualize it.
- Using an interactive word web, I can show high-level understanding of what a settlement is.
Looking Ahead:
The class will work on comparing and contrasting. Their targets will be:
- I can collaborate and begin creation of an authentic settlement in Minecraft.
- After comparing two different types of maps, I can identify similarities and differences between the two.
- While examining various rock and mineral samples, I can notice how they are alike and different based on geology tests.

- Minecraft Education Edition
Notice:
- Language Arts families: we have removed a unit within each course that duplicated skills from other units. This should help streamline the lessons and allow for better completion as we focus on content, assessments, and mastery.
- History families: it has been verified that both History courses are year-long. Percentages of completions have been adjusted to show this. We apologize for any confusion and frustration.
- All courses: after discussion, we have suspended the use of Portfolios and Discussion Posts until further notice so we may properly instruct students on the usage of these tools.
