Death Of The Highwayman and Bess
By: Morgan Lauber
The death of Bess...
Bess was a brave and smart lady. Bess had long, black, beautiful hair. Bess also had red lips and had a black-eye. From the story It says " She drew one last deep breath, then her finger moved in the moonlight, her musket moved in the moonlight, shattered her breast in the moonlight and warned him-with her death." This quote in the poem is saying that Bess killed herself to warn the highwayman with her death. This proves that Bess is brave and smart.

The death of the highwayman...
The highwayman is a brave and sneaky man. The highwayman wears a French cocked-hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at his chin, a coat of the claret velvet, breeches of brown doe-skin and boats up to his thighs. He rides a horse and has a pistol. From the story it says "When they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with a bunch of lace at his throat." The poem says that the highwayman died by getting shot by the British on the highway. That proves that the highwayman is a brave man.
