Feature Story
Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge Videos
I am proud to announce that Midview East has submitted 125 video entries to this year's Young Entrepreneur Institute Pitch Challenge Competition!! We had 273 students think of real world problems and then create product or business ideas to solve them. The most challenging part was coming up with a way to convey their message in a short elevator pitch. There were 33 individual entries and 92 team entries. Students were further challenged to learn Canva and the magic green screen capabilities within it to film and edit their own pitch videos for contest submission.
I would like to thank all of the teachers who stepped out of their comfort zone and conquered the pitch challenge within their classes. 5th grade shifted their Shark Tank Entrepreneurship Project to coincide with the pitch challenge contest. 6th grade advanced students traveled back into ancient times and invented something that would make life in ancient times easier using today's technology while the rest of 6th grade designed pitches with human-environment interaction in mind. Many other teachers took time to register for the contest so their students who entered could have additional opportunities for recognition and prizes. Northeast Ohio finalists and class winners will be announced in April.
