Valentine's Day Fun
We do not have plans for a Valentine’s Day party, however, students will be able to share Valentines with their friends if they want. I am asking that if they bring in Valentines that there is one for each student in our class.
We will be using our Valentines as a word sort and alphabetizing activity. They will be putting the valentines in ABC order, stamping them and placing them in student mail boxes. Alternately, students may use name cards that I will have for them to sort and alphabetize to work on the skill.
Below is our class list. If your child is bringing in Valentines please have them here by Tuesday, February 11th for the sorting activity. Please note that food or candy of any kind is not allowed.
PLEASE SEND IN A BOX BY TUESDAY AS WELL (CEREAL, SHOEBOX, ETC) FOR STUDENTS TO MAKE THEIR VALENTINES BOXES. If you don't have a box, no worries, will make an envelope. If you have MORE than one box, please do send in :)

Introducing Planet 306's New SOLAR SYSTEM UNIT
Monday they will choose the planet they are going to research for the next 4 weeks. It would be WONDERFUL if you could take them to the public library so they have their own books to research. The school library's books are being rotated among the 3rd grade classes to remain in the classroom. Students will also learn how to research online and find important facts about their planets!
Technology Corner
IMovies
Now that we have practiced, as a class, how to make iMovies, they are READY to create their very own in groups next week! This is a wonderful skill that encourages collaboration, summarizing, creativity, and of course…technology ;) Look out for these exciting movies next week!
