Cougar News - Week of 4/15/24
Letter from Ms. Bedford
Hello Smallville,
This has been a fun week full of a lot of activities! We enjoyed the eclipse on Monday and I loved seeing the students' joy as the clouds decided to briefly cooperate and we were able to see the totality. On our professional development day, Small staff were able to participate in a Zen moment with Cougar parent Jonathan Hewitt, founder of Life Ki-do Martial Arts Dojo. We also enjoyed all of the strategies he provided us to remain focused on the present.
We also kicked off our STAAR testing and I appreciate the hard work our students are putting in to show off their academic skills. We will continue with testing next Wednesday and Thursday for 8th grade Science and Social Studies. Today, the Student Council will be hosting our spring dance and we know how much our Cougars love to hit the dance floor.
I hope everyone has been doing well in their corner of the world. I’m sending you love, light, and positivity as we head into the weekend. We will see everyone on Monday!
Have an amazing weekend!
Stay Present Cougars,
Bedford

Attention Current 6th Grade Families
This is a friendly reminder to Parents/Guardians of upcoming seventh grade students to turn in proof of the following vaccinations before the beginning of the 24/25 school year. State law requires one dose of the meningococcal conjugate (MCV4) vaccine and one dose (booster) of the tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine for all students. More information can be found at School and Childcare | Texas DSHS. Please reach out to the school nurse at erin.clifford@austinisd.org, if you have specific questions regarding your child's immunization records.
