Honorables of Color Meeting TONIGHT: Drag Show
Join HoC in celebrating National Coming Out Week tonight at Temple’s annual Drag Show. Since drag culture was first conceptualized by queer people of color, what better way to celebrate than to support local drag performers?
Tonight, October 8th, we will meet in the Honors Lounge at 6:30pm, and head over to TPAC as a group at 6:40pm. This popular event starts at 7:30pm, so as we wait to be seated we’ll have a discussion on PoC LGBT history. If you cannot meet us in the Lounge it's okay, just head over to TPAC in time for the show! We hope to see you there, and happy National Coming Out Week!
FIMRC 2nd General Body Meeting
FIMRC is having its 2nd GBM for this semester on Tuesday, October 9th from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. in HGSC 217C! We will talking about various voluteering and fundraising opportunities.
We hope to see you there!
GenFKD Workshop 1: Finding Purpose
Generation Financial Knowledge Development is equipping millennials with the skills and education necessary to create and lead the “new economy.” GenFKD started at Temple in 2015 as a financial literacy organization. Constituting the most educated, indebted generation to date, millennials have been misled by a higher education system unwilling to take responsibility for post-graduate outcome. Every semester, GenFKD will hold 3-4 workshops about paying off student debt, entrepreneurship, investing in the 21st century, etc. The goal is to provide an out-of-the-classroom financial education that college students so desperately need. Events feature guest speakers and great prizes.
Workshop 1: Finding Purpose
This week we will workshop “purpose,” motivation and personal stories as they relate to students’ lives and career paths. We will highlight why soft skills and hands-on training will benefit development for career objectives. This workshop will define and envision “purpose” and how it fits into career and life goals.
Come out Thursday October 11th from 6:30 to 8:00pm in the Intellectual Heritage Lounge - Anderson 215 and hear from our guest lecturer Rex Yin, eat some snacks, and get some free GenFKD swag!!!
