Our Lady of Lourdes School TERM 2
Nau mai, Haere mai, Welcome to Week 4
HELLO, KIA ORA, KIA ORĀNA, MALO E LELEI, TALOFA, NAMASTE, KUMUSTA...
Welcome to Week 4. We are well on our way to learning and living the Mercy way in all that we do. Teachers/kaiako have been working on assessment in all the rooms as we track your child's progress.
Last week we welcomed back our St Peters Ambassadors who come every Monday lunch time to spend time with our children/tamariki. Our children love this time and our St Peters Ambassadors are great role models for our children, talking, listening, playing and helping. We are truly blessed.

FAITH FACTS FOR TERM 2
Week 4 (23-27 May)
“It can be difficult for us; humankind has always struggled with the reality of suffering and its place in our lives. However, we are God’s children and we are called to place our trust in him, knowing that his Son Jesus also suffered for us for the sake of salvation. We are especially reminded of this as we enter into Holy Week. It never ends in death, it is the beginning of a life through the resurrection. This new life is promised to us as well.”
(Archbishop Paul Martin, Extract from Inform, Issue 131- Lent 2022)
The Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord is observed on 29th May. It is observed 40 days after Easter Sunday. These 40 days go back to the passage we can find in the Acts of the Apostles, written by Luke: “ For forty days after Jesus death he appeared to them many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that he was alive. They saw him, and he talked with them about the Kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3). The Ascension then marks the end of Jesus’ special appearances - but it did not mean his appearance for good.
