Mountain Lion Minute
First Week of School
Hello Mountain Lion Families,
This coming Monday, August 30th will be an exciting time for Montgomery as we welcome back our students for the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Students, as well as any visitor, will be required to wear a mask while inside the building. A supply of masks will be available for students should they need one. As a reminder, in order to follow our healthy and safety protocols, families will not be allowed in the school building to take their child to their classroom. We will have staff members assigned outside to make sure your child gets to their classroom safely. Our team put a lot of thought and effort into making arrival and dismissal safe for our students. Please be patient with us as the first few days may take a bit longer as we teach our students expectations for arrival and dismissal. Our school day begins 9:10 AM and ends at 3:40 PM.
Arrival on the 1st Day
This for any student in grades kindergarten through 3rd grade, as well as any new students. Please send your child to school with their name and teacher name on a piece of paper. This will help with our arrival process.
Arrival:
Our doors will open at 8:55 AM each morning. Please be sure your child does not arrive before this time as we will not have staff available to supervise them.
If you plan is to drive your child to school, please enter through the parent drop off loop to the right of our school. Staff will be standing along the parent drop off line to supervise your child as they exit your vehicle along the path. Please make sure your child exits out of the passenger side door. Please do not pass the car in front of you. We will have designated areas for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade upon arrival. We will have adults stationed outside to assist students getting to their assigned location prior to entering the building. Our building will take an “all hands on deck” approach to arrival each day next week to ensure your child safely makes it to their classroom. If your child needs assistance getting out of your vehicle, please park in one of our parking spaces in an attempt to not hold up the line of vehicles. As many of you know, we have a large number of vehicles that come through the drop off line.
Students who are taking the bus will enter through the gym doors. Each student will have an assigned seat on the bus. All students are required to wear a mask while on the bus. Again, we will have a plethora of staff members available to assist students make their way safely to their grade level location.
Dismissal:
Parent Pick Up
If you are picking your child up via our car line, please be sure to have your car rider number from the 2020-2021 school year. Each child/ family will be assigned a number for parent pick-up, regardless of whether or not they plan to be picked up or take the bus. Any new students/ families will be given their number the first days of school. Please place this on your passenger side window/dashboard when picking up your child. Students should place their number tag on their book bag as well.
In the event that you do not have your assigned number, please write your child's first and last name, as well as their grade level on a piece of paper.
Staff members will be outside communicating with teachers when your car arrives. Your child will then be dismissed from their classroom and escorted to your car. In order to ensure social distancing, we are asking all parents to remain in the car and not walk up to the main door for parent pick up.
Late arrival/Early departure
Guardians will be signing in and out in the binder that is located in the secure vestibule area. You will be asked to show your ID through the glass door. All guardians must show photo ID in order to pick up their child. We will then call your child’s teacher to send them to you if you are picking them up early.
NPSD Mask Policy
Important Information Regarding Masks
Masks must be worn by students, staff and visitors inside of all North Penn School District buildings, per the NPSD Health and Safety Plan. This change comes as the North Penn community is now in its second straight week of substantial transmission rates of COVID-19. Masks remain optional outside. You can view Masking Requirements here.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this important matter.

Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast & Lunch
For the 2021-22 School Year, North Penn School Nutrition Services will continue to offer FREE breakfast and lunch for all students!
We highly encourage families to still apply for free and reduced meals even though it does not affect receiving free meals in schools.
Boosterthon- Home & School
Montgomery Elementary families!
We are excited to kick off our Montgomery Mountain Lion Fun Run on September 22nd. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for Home and School funded field trips, books, social events, teacher and student supplies, technology, and more! This will also help strengthen our school community. Our school has always relied on fundraising to provide exceptional opportunity to enhance student learning and we need your help.
We completely understand if your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at MYBOOSTER.COM. Sharing IS supporting!
Just as we worked to safely begin school this year, we are also safely hosting this essential fundraiser based on our school’s current guidelines. We’ll send more details, as we get closer to our kick off.
