YES, we will be having a HALLOWEEN parade this year. Monday, October 31 st, is the day that staff and students will be dressing up.
School Council, will be providing every child with a "Treat Bag"!
So please DO NOT send any extra candy/food for Halloween for the class.
Please ensure that the costume your child wears to school is functional in that your child can handwash use the washroom without assistance. We ask that costume accessories (i.e., swords, knives, loose parts, full masks) NOT be sent to school
Please keep your child's costume simple. Especially for the younger students. Students will have to be able to use the washroom with their costumes on. SIMPLE< SIMPLE< SIMPLE is best.
Students are to come to school dressed in costume, they will wear them for the day.

Loose Parts Play is opening November 1st.
Madonna Catholic has partnered with Ever Active Schools to create a loose parts play program in our school!
Play is hugely important in almost every area of children’s lives. It improves social skills and creativity while supporting emotional resilience, physical development, confidence, and learning. Loose parts play is a type of play that supports invention, divergent thinking, problem-solving and offers a sense of wonder to children.
As our children begin their journey into Loose Parts Play this school year and you would like to contribute, we are looking to gather certain materials.
We NEED:
WoodenSpools, Pool Noodles, Rope, Tubing, plastic crates, Tarps, 5 gallon water jugs and Wood. Wood needs to be untreated with no nails.
Please make sure there are no sharp edges on any of the items you donate.
Here is a video that gives you an example of loose parts.
It is getting colder outside ... Please dress your child for the WEATHER ... If your child is on an out door field trip -- dress them in warm coats, hats, boots and gloves. Thank you.
