LHR 7th Grade At-Home Learning
Week 7 - May 4-8, 2020
Principal Message
Welcome to Week 7 of At-Home Learning at L.H. Rather. It's hard to believe we are already in Week 7. Our teachers and staff continue to work hard to prepare learning opportunities designed to help you be prepared for success next year. Make sure you complete all assignments, submit them (in Google Classroom or by returning paper packets), and respond to teacher calls and emails each week so you are on track to complete the 4th quarter successfully.
Progress Reports were mailed home last Wednesday. Only students with incomplete work and those with unsatisfactory work will receive progress reports (each subject has a separate Progress Report). If you do not get a Progress Report by mail, then your work was considered Satisfactory/Passing by your teachers and you are on track with At-Home Learning. If you receive one or more Progress Reports, please contact your teacher(s) to discuss what you can do to complete missing work or improve your score on unsatisfactory work.
Remember: If you struggle on a particular assignment, or are not happy with your "score" on an assignment, you need to join your teacher during "office hours" or call their Google Voice number so he/she can go over the assignment with you for "tutoring/corrections".
If I can be of any help to you and your family at this time, please let me know. Together we are better!
I miss you guys,
Mrs. Daniel

7th Grade Social Studies
This week for Social Studies we are going to continue our preparations for 8th grade. The content we will be working with over the next couple of weeks is going to be The Constitution. This week we will be concentrating on notes and vocabulary to start Unit 3. You will be able to access all of this through Google Classroom. There will be a material post for the PowerPoint (you will use this for the next 3 weeks) followed by two assignment posts. Log into Google Classroom with your school email and password (the same one you use to log in to the Chromebook at school). Once logged in you will use the PowerPoint to help you to do the two assignments. Both assignments will be turned in through Google Classroom…once you have finished the assignment, return to the Google Classroom page, attach your work, and then click turn in. Once you have it turned in the box to the right will say “turned in”.
Assignment 1:
Use the PowerPoint provided in Google classroom to fill in the blanks as you read through the notes. You can edit the original or create your own document and number it the same as the original.
Assignment 2:
Use the PowerPoint to define the list of vocabulary words. Create your own document with the vocabulary word and definition.
7th Grade Science
During this 7th Week of At-Home Learning, we will have a concept review. This is a review assignment with only a small amount of questions. The purpose of this shortened assignment is to give you a chance to make up and get caught up on your missing work.
In StemScopes, I will be reassigning missing and/or failing assignments to those that need to complete them. Your expectation this week is to get the missing/failing assignments completed to get caught up in Science. Once those are done, complete the new concept review activity.
If you have any questions, join me in video during my ‘office hours’, call me at 314-635-0949, or email me at clint.ashlock@bonhamisd.org.
