College Hills Elementary PTO
November 2016
A Message from Mr. Hatfield
Dear College Hills Parents & Guardians,
We hope this letter finds everyone well and ready for the holiday season that is quickly approaching. Red Ribbon week was a success ending with our book character parade. We were glad to see so many families join us for the parade and rally. We have many exciting activities upcoming, including our 5th annual Paws to the Pavement on November 5th. If you have not registered for a day of family fun and fitness you still have time. We will have Veteran's coming to our school on November 9th for a time of sharing with our students. We would also like to let everyone know that we will start the KBTX Food for Families food drive upon returning from Thanksgiving break. Enjoy all the upcoming holidays with your family and friends! As always, thank you for sharing your children with us.

TEACHING GIVING AT COLLEGE HILLS
Visit the office in the days following the Thanksgiving break to help our CHE staff with their giving tree. Our staff's giving tree displays items that are needed for a child at CHE and parents are welcome to choose a listed need to purchase and deliver before the staff's giving tree wrap up party. Alternatively, parents are also welcome to simply offer a cash donation to help support the effort.
College Hills participates in KBTX's food drive and that will take place right after Thanksgiving Break.
Also, the Books and a Blanket program is a nonprofit started by CHE siblings that benefits local children each Christmas. Please consider dropping off new and gently used books in the front office. This collection bin is available year round so feel free to share books at any time that is convenient. However, November is the busiest time of the year as they prepare for the early December deliveries.
Stay tuned for more details available immediately following the Thanksgiving Holiday.

With remind & Facebook, parents can receive helpful reminders and interesting news where it is most convenient.
We share even more info for parents through Facebook for the school here and for the PTO here. It is encouraged that parents toggle on "Get Notifications" on the top of our pages. Otherwise, many posts will not be included in your news feed without being boosted with an ad buy. We'd rather spend our money on the kids:)
