Friday Focus
March 11, 2016
Happy Friday Everyone!
We've accomplished much and have made the most of the school year this far, but it's time for a little REST and RELAXATION. I hope you enjoy some down time with your friends and family.
If you are traveling, be safe.
I can't wait to enjoy some time outdoors and maybe take the kayaks out for a float. It looks like the weather will be nice at least part of the time during Spring Break.
I'm also going to try to catch up on some reading. I'm currently reading Good to Great by Jim Collins. I really like it so far.
Several of us will be gone on Senior Trip March 20-26. Follow the trip with #srtrip16.
Basketball season came to an end this week for both the girls and boys. But both teams have much to be proud of, including a pair of district championships. Thanks to the coaches, players, and fans who made this an incredibly memorable season.
Thanks to Bobbie Wooderson and the Interact Club for the Subway meal Monday night during Open House!
We had a great turnout Monday for Open House with about 225 parents visiting. That's 100 more than last year.
Thanks to Gina Lawson and STUCO for providing childcare for teachers during Open House!
The Career Ed departments had advisory meetings last night during Open House. We had several guests in the building and culinary provided some delicious snacks.
On Wednesday, March 23rd during Late Start, we will be "shuffling the deck" a bit. You will have several options to choose from that morning. Or, you may work on your personal learning plan or stick with department collaboration if that best fits your needs.
1. Safari Montage - Pam Thompson
2. Makerspace Possibilities - Bobbie Wooderson
3. 3D Printing - Angie Gries
4. Customizing Google Classroom - Gina Green
5. Cross Curricular Ideas - Morgan DeClue
Also, keep in mind the front of the building will be under construction. The contractors will be doing some work. Please be reminded if you park in the first two rows out front, that area will be blocked with construction fence, so you will need to park in the back.
