The Planning
My name is Jon Trillman, I am a farmer from Tennessee. I love to grow and sell by plants and provide meat for our local meat market. I also love spending time with my family. My family consists of Chloe my wife who is pregnant, Ben my son and Becky my daughter. My wife and I have made one of the biggest decisions of our lives. We both decided to set out with some other people I know. We are heading west for the unbelievably rich soil and grazing plato. Going here will be an amazing opportunity for my plants and animals to produce and grow a lot better. We have only $150 and a wagon that can hold about one thousand pounds. Tomorrow my wife and I are going to get our supplies for the trip.
Day 1
Today me and my wagon party along with my family crossed the Missouri river saftley. But we could have payed an Indian with a fairy but my wife and I thought that we should save our money for as long as possible, and luckily our wagon leader found a safe spot to cross. We also stopped for a quick hunting trip, I used my four animal traps and didn't get any. But other members of our wagon party got pretty luckily
During the same day we were approached by an interesting Indian man. He loved to bet and gamble. And knowing me I love to gamble as well, so I had to. And luckily I passed his gambling routines. By passing I got everyone in my wagon party an extra $25.
We rode in a wagon like this one.
This was our rout. To get to oregon
This is an example of the terrain that we will be up againts
Day 2
Today we ran into snakes and me nor my family in bitten buy our wagon leader's grandpa has been bitten and died. The first casualty of the trip. Again we are approached by an Indian that wanted to test someone from the wagon. I went up against other people from other wagon party's. I won again, rewarding us extra blankets and ammo. We also passed a water hole. This is where we filled up our empty water barrels. We also found another hunting spot here, I didn't hunt because I have enough food for now. We also had to cross another river. The whole wagon party decided to pay the fary fee. My wife is still pregnant so the whole family is still very excited to meet the newest edition. Our wagon party was faced with a possible life threatining decision. We could go take the Graveyard pass or go the long way. The Graveyard path is very dangerous, there is not a lot of water and is known to have a lot of hostile Indians in the area. The long rout had water and hunting grounds, but it was double the time. And we needed to get to Oregon as fast as possible. So we chose the Graveyard path.
Day 3
We made it out of the graveyard path with only a few casualities. The family is still safe. We where attacked by Indians. The same day we came apon a gross lake, many people chose to drink from it due to the water levels being low from the barrels. We had to boil the water until it was consumeable. Here we also meet up with the other wagon parties. Today my wife also gave birth to the new child. It was a boy, and his name was Ricky Bobby. Later we where faced with another fork in the road. We could either go back to a local fort and camp there for a few months and wait for the ugly winter storm to pass. Or continue on the shortest path again and see if we get stuck in due to the snow fall and if we dont we would be very close to Oregon. We could also send scouts out to see if the upcoming road was good enough for the wagons to cross. We where here with not only our wagon party but all of the others too. All of the wagon parties chose to go for the shortest path and hope that we dont get cought up in the snow, because if we do we will all freeze to death. It was getting colder by the minuet. I hope we get there soon.
Day 4
We are stopped... I think that some people in the other wagon train's are dead... My fingers are going numb.... I don't think my daughter is alive.... She hasn't moved since we all covered up with all the blankets.... I cant take this... Good bye........
